I had a display table at the International Fibromyalgia Awareness Day (I.F.A.D.E.) event on Saturday May 9
Several of my gallery wrapped canvases and fine art greeting cards filled my table.
There were about a dozen local vendors exhibiting all sorts of art and craft related items.
The admission price included a goodie bag, all you can drink tea, silent auction, light lunch, live music and several chances to win prizes.
Lucky winner Donna VanDyk is the winner of a diamond ring donated by Mimi's Jewellers.
Dozens of local business donated items.
The candy buffet included jelly beans, sour candy, M&M and salt water taffy in exchange for a donation of your choice.
Flowers planted in teapots made beautiful centrepieces. Each pot was available for purchase.
Emily Weber played the Celtic Harp. It sounded beautiful.
A lot of people showed up with friends and family. Everyone had a good time.
Janet Lewis who is coordinator for the Fibromyalgia Support Group was the emcee for the afternoon.
Here she is with her partner Andrew who helped out.
Many of the support Group members were also helping out during the event.
A lot of work went into preparing for this event months in advance.
They had everything but the kitchen sink.
Jars were filled with homemade recipes for baked goods, homemade candles and baskets filled with soaps, creams and all kinds of things to pamper mom with.
Greeting cards were for sale during the event. Emilie who was a greeter at the event is the model on the cards.
Greeting cards are still available for $5 each or 5 for $20.
You can contact Janet Lewis at 705-525-5121 or 705-626-5121. You can read more about the cards in my blog post here https://margsphotography.com/sudbury-fibromyalgia-support-group-fundraiser/
Towards the end of the day, volunteers were thanked with special gifts.
The I.F.A.D.E. event was a success.
More than $2,500 was raised.
